Thursday 13 June 2013

Started out Thursday 6th June (D Day) with Phil and Deb Bennett, spent the night at Wylandra Crossing (Dubbo/Rawsonville), then next night at Nevertire where we caught up with old friends and Johnnie Kerins whom I had not seen for 50 years. Nyngan had a celebration for 130 years of rail, so had a Cobb & Co coach parade, Bourke was boarded up! Looked like rain so we continued on to Baringun on the Qld border. Cunnamulla to Wyandra for a few days and had our anniversary dinner at the Wyandra pub (never thought I would say that). Through Charleville, It has not changed since last I was here (1965), we thought it would be a lot bigger than it is. Thursday we arrived at Morven, a great little camp spot and will stay for a few days before heading north to Tambo on the way to Isa. Went on to Aramac, the pie shop is closed, out to Lake Dunn and met up with Jan & Guy Bevan & Ross & Helen Williams (Kains Flat).

I passed by this site 47 years ago, the 2 circles are actually wheels from a Cobb & Co stage coach, the spokes rotted since last I was here!
